ROBBERY

Around 2:15 p.m., July 29, Cranston Police Officers arrested Willy Welson, 33, of 30 Howard Ave, Cranston, for one count of Robbery- 2nd Degree (Larceny from the Person), one count of Disorderly Conduct, and one count of Resisting Legal or Illegal Arrest. The arrest was the result of a disturbance call at Wendy’s, 110 Garfield Ave. Welson was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and transported to ACI Intake as a “Bail Violator,” according to Cranston Police.

REVOKED LICENSE

Around 3:45 p.m., July 29, Cranston Police charged Todd Moore, 33, of 1581 Elmwood Ave, Cranston, for one count of Driving with a Suspended/Revoked/Cancelled License (4th or Greater offense). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle crash investigation in the area of Texas Roadhouse at 99 Garfield Ave. Moore was released from custody with a summons to appear in 3rd District Court, according to Cranston Police.

RECKLESS DRIVING

Around 5:35 p.m., July 29, Cranston Police arrested Thomas Marold, 35, of 50 Shore Ave., Warwick, for one count of Reckless Driving/Eluding Police (first offense). The arrest was the result of a previously issued Arrest & Affidavit Warrant, and subsequent arrest by Warwick Police. Marold was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and transported to ACI Intake as a “Probation Violator,” according to Cranston Police.

BREAKING & ENTERING

At 2:25 a.m., July 25, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jonathan Shamers, 33, of 100 Elena St., Apt. 201, Cranston, for Domestic Breaking and Entering, Domestic Simple Assault (first offense), Domestic Vandalism, and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. The arrest occurred following a domestic disturbance call at 80 Doane St., according to Cranston Police. Shamers was awaiting arraignment, according to Cranston Police.

VANDALISM

Around 3:32 p.m., July 28, Cranston Police Officers arrested Natalia Lopez, 22, of 71 Burnside St., Cranston, for one count of Vandalism/Malicious Damage and one count of Disorderly Conduct.

At the same time, Cranston Police also arrested Erica Lanigan, 43, of 71 Burnside St., Cranston, for one count of Disorderly Conduct.

The arrests were the result of a disturbance call at Rainbow Shops, 1200 Oaklawn Ave. Lopez and Lanigan were both arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released, according to Cranston Police.

OBSTRUCTION

At 11:20 p.m., July 25, Cranston Police Officers arrested Austin Alexander Weaver, 29, of 13557 Broad Oak Court, Decatur, Georgia, for obstruction and an outstanding Superior Court Bench Warrant. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop on Reservoir Avenue and Legion Way. Weaver was transported to the ACI.

SEX OFFENDER ADDRESS CHANGE

At 3:10 a.m., July 26, Cranston Police Officers arrested Bruce W. Peavy, 71, of 30 Howard Ave., for a Sex Offender Address Change violation. The arrest was the “result of a warrant pick up by the Providence Police department,” according to Cranston Police. Peavy was awaiting arraignment.

SIMPLE ASSAULT

At 5:39 p.m., July 25, Cranston Police Officers arrested Joseph Botelho, 44, of 818 Dyer Ave., Cranston, for Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct as a result of an assault complaint at Cranston Fire Station #3, 1384 Cranston St. Botelho was presented as a Bail Violator and transported to Men’s Intake at the ACI.

SHOPLIFTING CONSPIRACY

At 4:02 p.m., July 25, Cranston Police arrested two women for Shoplifting and Conspiracy following an investigation.

Cranston Police Officers arrested Patrizio Radu, 20, of 11081 Barclay Drive, Garden Grove, California, for Shoplifting, Conspiracy and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Cranston Police also arrested Eliza Stanciu, 37, of 235 Hampton St., Anaheim, California, for Shoplifting, Conspiracy, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

The arrests were the result of a dispatch-initiated investigation, according to Cranston Police.

Patrizio Radu and Stanciu were both arraigned and released by a Justice of the Peace.

Cranston Police also arrested Maria Radu, 38, of 235 Hampton St, Anaheim, as a Fugitive from Justice, Giving a False Document to a Public Official, Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of Duty, Shoplifting, Conspiracy, and Contributing to the Delinquency. Maria Radu was arraigned by Justice of the Peace and transported to Women’s Intake at the ACI.

RECEIVING STOLEN GOODS

At 4:50 p.m., July 24, Cranston Police Officers arrested Mahadi Mervyn Kinlow, 25, of 18 Father Capodanno Boulevard, Apt. 4R, Staten Island, New York, for Receiving Stolen Goods following a traffic stop at 873 Cranston St. Kinlow was arraigned and released by a bail commissioner, according to Cranston Police.

NO CONTACT ORDER VIOLATION

At 12:01 a.m., July 24, Cranston Police Officers arrested Fernando Silva Jr., 42, of 101 New London Ave., Apt. 136, Cranston, for three counts of violating a No Contact Order, Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of Duty, and a Superior Court Bench Warrant, following a disturbance 991 Oaklawn Ave. Silva was held for morning Court.

WARRANT ARREST

Around 5:27 p.m., July 22, Cranston Police arrested Joseph Noel, 40 of 129 North Main St., Burrillville, for a bench warrant. The arrest was the result of a car stop on Henry Street. Noel was transported to the ACI, according to Cranston Police.

FELONY SHOPLIFTING

Around 2 p.m., May 15, Johnston Police Patrolman Thomas Santurri was dispatched to Market Basket at 1300 Hartford Ave., for the report of a shoplifting that had previously occurred. The suspect allegedly fled the scene in a maroon Chevrolet but was not located when police arrived.

A store manager told police that he spotted “a female in the store who appeared suspicious to him,” according to the incident report. The woman had left a full carriage of groceries near the exit for several minutes before returning to it, according to police.

The manager told police that the woman then exited the store with the carriage passing all points of purchase without attempting to pay, but the manager followed. He told the woman that he was calling the police.

“At this time the female appeared nervous and started rummaging through her vehicle,” according to police. She told the manager that she was “looking for her wallet.”

The woman then jumped in her vehicle and fled the area,” but the manager was able to recover 29 items valued at $322.15. Police matched the vehicle registration with the owner. They forwarded the case to the Johnston Police Detective Division for further investigation.

Police eventually identified the suspect as Christine O. Lusiak, 55, of 22 Hope Road, Cranston. They issued warrants for her arrest on a felony Shoplifting charge and Habitual Offender-Shoplifting, a misdemeanor.  According to police, Lusiak had been convicted of at least three prior shoplifting charges.

On June 25, Johnston Police responded to the Pawtucket Police Department to pick up Lusiak who was wanted by the department. She had been picked up by Pawtucket Police on the active JPD warrants.

Lusiak was transported back to Johnston Police Headquarters for processing. Later that day she was arraigned, entered no plea and was released on $3,000 personal recognizance with an October court date.

MISDEMEANOR SUSPENDED LICENSE

Around 5:19 p.m., May 31, Warwick Police Officer Connor R. Bemis was at a fixed traffic post across from Motel 6 on Jefferson Boulevard when he spotted a grey Dodge pass with an expired registration. According to the arrest report, the expired registration was shown to be suspended on a blue Toyota as of 2019.

Bemis initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Angel A. Colon Vega, 25, of 501 Reservoir Ave., Apt. 13, Cranston. According to police, the driver’s license had been suspended under the Colin B. Foote Act, a Rhode Island state law that levies higher penalties for repeat traffic violations.

The driver was arrested and charged with Driving after Denial/Revocation/Suspension for Certain Violations (first offense; a misdemeanor). He was transported to Warwick Police Headquarters and later released without incident.
