UPDATE: Johnston Police Chief Mark A. Vieira: "I can confirm that runaway juvenile Taya Scott was located around 4:00 PM."

UPDATED 2:03 P.M., MONDAY, MAY 6:

Have you seen Taya Scott?

According to Johnston Police, investigators are seeking the public's help in locating the Johnston 15-year-old, who has been missing since Wednesday, May 1.

According to Johnston Public School Superintendent Bernard DiLullo Jr., “the missing student left school at dismissal (1:35 p.m.).”

School officials were uncertain whether she got on the school bus after dismissal Wednesday.

“I am hoping that Taya is safe and look forward to her return,” DiLullo said Monday morning. “We don't think she got on the bus on Wednesday.”

Police described Taya Scott as 5’4″ tall, 135 pounds, dark brown hair with red highlights, and wearing a gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.

According to police, she did not board her afternoon bus, and they’ve been looking for Taya Scott since Wednesday evening.

“On Wednesday night (May 1) a family member reported 15-year-old Taya Scott missing after she did not get off the bus from Johnston High School,” according to Johnston Police Chief Mark A. Vieira. “Taya was last seen at school on Wednesday around 1:45 p.m. and did not get on the bus at dismissal.”

“If you have any information on Taya's whereabouts, please contact (Johnston Police) Detective Rado at (401) 757-3123 or the Johnston Police Department at (401) 231-4210,” Johnston Police posted on their social media accounts. “Please share to spread the word and help bring Taya home safely.”
