Turnout at Little Angel’s Academy reached 100% on Election Day.

Instead of politicians, however, the preschool tikes chose between extra recess, no rest time, and ice cream for a snack every day.

“The preschoolers were busy all week decorating their voting booth for the big day,” said Karen Esposito. “The children choose what they would like to vote on.”

The Little Angel’s Academy located at 415 Central Ave. in Johnston held its own Election Day as voters across the nation were filing into polling places to cast their ballots and weigh in on offices from the White House down to Town Hall.

“The choices on the ballot were the following: 1. Extra Recess 2. No Rest time. 3. Ice cream for snack every day.” Esposito shared as the kids were casting their votes. “This lesson was to help children really understand what it means to vote. Preschool voting activities teach them about the voting process, to help the children really understand what it means to vote, that they each have an opinion and the vote stands. Also, they will learn about the world around them and who is in it.”

Perhaps, needless to say, ice cream won the day.
