George Curti, “Mister Wonderful”, 89, of Cranston, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 16, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Margaret (Paola) Curti and the late Dorothy F. (Jasper) Curti.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late George V. and Mary (Happach) Curti.

George served in the US Army from 1961 to 1964. George owned and operated his business “Grand Floor” for many years. He later worked at B.A. Ballou and later was a Purchasing Manager for A.T. Wall Company.

He was a self-proclaimed inventor; often creating wooden figures or toys coined as “Papa Toys”.  He was also quite the jokester, always making everyone laugh … including himself!

George was a Senior Olympian and competed in many races for Speed Walking. He was also a Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts of America and a Mentor at Junior Achievement of RI, where he had an influential impact on those he had mentored.

George’s special interest included jazz music, baking, woodworking, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.

George was the cherished father of Ralph (JR), George, Melissa and her husband Jimmy, and Joshua. He was the beloved “Papa” of his grandchildren Kayla, Joshua, Nicholas (Zoey), Madelyn, and Michael and his great grandchildren. He was the brother of Charles Curti, the late Margaret Wilson, James W. Curti, and Ernesta Piccerelli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 25, 2025, 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr, Cranston. (Kindly meet directly at Church Saturday morning.)  Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Flowers are respectfully omitted.
