Allen Anthony Calafrancisco, 81, of Warwick, RI died peacefully at home on February 15th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Providence on April 18, 1943, the son of Antonio R. and Giovannina (Salzillo) Calafrancisco. Allen attended La Salle Academy. He earned a B.S. from Bryant University, where he was a member of the Alpha Theta Chi Fraternity. After college, he served in the U.S. Air Force National Guard.

Allen married Elaine Elizabeth Whiteley of Johnston in 1969, with whom he recently celebrated their 55th Anniversary. He joined the Internal Revenue Service in New York City and subsequently returned to Rhode Island in their employ, where he earned his C.P.A. and was a Revenue Agent for 37 years. Following retirement, he had a private C.P.A. practice preparing tax returns and lent his expertise as a volunteer preparing tax returns for a variety of non-profit organizations and through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Allen was a communicant of St. Gregory the Great Parish in Warwick, where he served as treasurer of the parish council for many years and participated in the Knights of Columbus Council 12821. He was a member of the Varnum Continentals and the East Greenwich Armory and served as treasurer of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #26.

Allen’s passions were for good cars, particularly BMWs in his later years, and for running and triathlon competitions, in which he often placed at the top of his age group. He also enjoyed scuba diving and kayaking, and more than 20 annual penguin plunges. Allen was recognized as a member of the Boston Marathon’s “Vol of Fame” for 15+ years of volunteer service, as well as by the Rhode Island Blood Center for donating more than 100 pints of blood.

In addition to his wife, Allen leaves his beloved daughter, Melissa, and son-in-law, James L. Truslow, V, Esq., of Potowomut, and his 2 cherished grandchildren, James VI and Grace.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 21st from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick, RI at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22nd.
