The Cranston East softball team remained unbeaten when it picked up a statement win in its 15-2 thrashing of Rogers on Monday.
Samaya Imondi and Lexi Montalban each drove in three runs to pace the offense while Isabella Sousa also knocked in a pair of RBI.
Sousa pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed no earned runs while striking out nine batters. Montalban pitched the final two innings and allowed no earned runs while striking out three batters.
The Bolts improved to 5-0 with the win and claimed first place in Division III.
West 11, Smithfield 1
The Falcons bounced back after dropping their first game of the season by cruising past the Sentinels.
Sofia knocked in five runs and homered while Nicole Silvestri also hit a home run in the win while recording three RBI.
Mia Crudale got the win in the circle, allowing no earned runs in six innings of work while striking out two.
BASEBALL
Coventry 4, East 1
Antonio Defusco knocked in East’s lone run it its loss to the Oakers last week. Damien Wholey pitched four innings and allowed just one earned run while picking up a pair of strikeouts.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Westerly 18, East 7
The Bolts fell on the road on Monday night. Lily Tillinghast paced East’s offense with six goals while Alyssa Pereira added another. Bella Dupret finished with 12 saves in the cage.
BOYS LACROSSE
Tiverton 15, East 3
The Thundercats are still searching for their first win after falling to Tiverton on Monday. Josaiah Everette scored two goals and Connor Niles added another in the loss. Alex Fedorchuk racked up 12 saves in the cage.
West 11, Middletown 6
The Falcons picked up a huge win over the defending champions last week and claimed first place in Division II.
Charles Maguire’s hot streak continued as he recorded a hat trick. Jack Majcher, Cam Scorpio, Jayden Bogle, Jared Bogle, Justin Drohen and Kyle Schmitz all scored goals for West as well.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
West 3, Pilgrim 0
The Falcons swept Pilgrim to remain undefeated and in first place in Division II.
Christopher Harvey and Nathan Dixon finished with six kills while Kevin Dilone added five. Logan Reed led the defense with six digs.
